Our Visions and Idols

Every child should, as of birth, have the same pollution-rights. And if we rich northern people must pollute as we do, than shouldn’t we be able to buy pollution-rights from those who have them but don’t use them. As a result not so many children would be dying of hunger, because they made money off of selling their pollution-rights. And all the people together would only produce as mush greenhouse gases as the seas and trees can absorb. We call this climate justice.

Some people say, it is naiv and utopistic. Martin Luther King also had a dream, which was also utopistic for most people. 40 years ago in the USA black people weren’t even allowed to sit in the same bus as white people. Today there is a black president in the Whitehouse.

Imagine we are a mosquito hovering in front of a rhino. Do we believe to be able to make the rhino change its path? Probably not. But if we where 1.000 mosquito’s – the rhino would go the other way.

If a hand full of children plant trees, then a single tree won’t have such a grave affect. But if all the children from over the entire world came together to plant trees, then the world could change.
